The Division of Water Resources is again threatening to raise well permit fees. As the State of Colorado is desperately needing tax monies (so all State employees can maintain their life style) it would be advisable, if you are considering having a well drilled within the next two years, to get your permit now! Currently permits are valid for one or two years, depending on the permit type and can be extended for one additional year. If you need assistance with a well permit call and talk to Debi, she can handle the process for you. Well permit fees are currently $100 but were recently an insane $480. Previous to the $480 they were $60 and before that just $25. It’s gut wrenching to calculate the hundreds of percent increases, as it is yet another tax! — David Nequette
