A good salesman knows these phrases work. A lot of contractors are ‘yes men’. It makes you feel good; you’re getting what you want. So you hire the agreeable fella. After living with your decision you wonder why you didn’t do it differently. It would have been much less expensive and easier to live with if done differently. Be it a poor door location in your house or a well or septic tank that’s in the way of a deck or under where you want to put your new garage. Hindsight is wonderful. It was your plan but, you’re not in the contracting business. Your contractor was a yes-man; he never offered you the benefit of his experience. Being a good salesman, he knows that can kill a sale. I guess that’s why some say I’m hard to get along with; I offer potential customers the benefit of 30 plus years experience. A good experienced contractor $ave$. Living year around in the valley is much easier when you don’t have to fight Mother Nature. Proper planning can save you a lot of grief and even more money. — David Nequette
